Covid-19 Update February 2021

Hendy Eastleigh 10k – rescheduled In the light of the current situation with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic it seems clear that road races will not be taking place in the next few months. I’m sure it will not come as any surprise to you that we have taken the decision that we will  reschedule this event from March 2021.Hopefully the situation is improving but we have to take into account the safety of runners being able to safely participate, in terms of social distancing for such a big event, as well as all the volunteers, spectators and other organisations that help make this such a popular race.

The team behind the Hendy Eastleigh 10k are all passionate about the event and our community and we understand how disappointing and frustrating this is for our participants, spectators, sponsors and partners.

What happens now?

The good news is we already have a number of back up dates for the event in the forthcoming months the first of which is in May with dates also in June July and even September.  All of our 2020 participants are automatically transferred to a new date for the staging of the postponed Hendy Eastleigh 10k 2020. Your current race pack and number still applies -SO PLEASE KEEP YOUR NUMBER SAFE!!

Hopefully things will become clearer later this by March/early April we will be able to confirm an appropriate date. But with an ever changing situation it is impossible to confirm a new date at the moment.  However we WILL stage the event at some point this year and unlike many races we already have everything in place including a full house of runners, medals and t-shirts etc. So when we do get the go ahead we can hopefully be one of the first races for runners to enjoy.

Very sadly Full on Sport (our entry platform) have gone into administration and we are waiting for the outcome of this situation. Therefore for the time-being we are pausing administration associated with the event.

Thanks to all our runners, our sponsors Hendy, our partners goPhysio and Up & Running together with Eastleigh Running Club and all the local community groups for their support and understanding during these exceptional times and we look forward to seeing you all as soon as we can. Stay fit, healthy and safe.

Best wishes
Steve
