Hendy Eastleigh 10k Update – June 2021

Following the Government’s recent announcement to extend the lockdown easing by another month we have now received advice from local authorities and UK Athletics.

UK Athletics have informed us that they would be unable to issue a license for our event during this month period so we are left with no other option than to reschedule the event. I know many of you will be disappointed and frustrated, as we are, and its impossible to get a date that’s suits everyone but rest assured its being done for the safety of runners, volunteers, spectators and the local community. On a positive note if the Government’s time frame goes to plan we will be able to hold a ‘normal’ event after 19 July.

So we are pleased to announce that, with fantastic support from our suppliers, Eastleigh Running Club and local community groups, we have rescheduled the event for Sunday 1 August  at 9am. This date is two weeks after the Government’s target of 19 July and eight days after the proposed return of Park run – when the country should be getting back to more normality and over 10 million more vaccinations would have taken place.

What happens now?

All of our current participants are automatically transferred to a new date. All current race pack numbers still apply – PLEASE KEEP YOUR NUMBER SAFE!!  This includes those runners who are collecting new numbers on the day and any numbers issued for new runners who entered after last year’s event date -these will also be issued on the day.

Very sadly, as we said before Full on Sport (our entry platform) went into into administration. We do not have the ability to use any historical financial details previously held by Full On Sport which includes issuing of refunds. So we will be encouraging runners who cant run to transfer their number as before.

I would personally like to thank all our runners, our sponsors Hendy, our partners goPhysio and Up & Running together with Eastleigh Running Club and all the local community groups for their help, support and understanding during these exceptional times and we look forward to seeing you all in August

Stay fit, healthy and safe.
Best wishes
Steve
